Home is where your heart is… if this is true, then I have several places that I call home.
I was raised in the small town of Wahpeton located in south east corner ND. The mighty Red River forms between Wahpeton, ND and Breckenridge, MN and is one of the only rivers that runs north. I am not sure how many hundreds of miles long it is, but I do know that is travels all the way into Canada.
The Red is also well known for its abundance of Catfish. So much so that there is a huge statue of one mounted on a granite pedestal in the Kidder Campground. Everytime we would go there to visit, my brother would take my kids and drive past it. He convinced my them that he caught the mounted monstrosity and they thought he was the king of fishermen! What a jokester…
I now live on a ranch outside of an even smaller town called Willow City which is about 300 miles north of Wahpeton near the Canadian border. How I got here nearly 30 years ago is another story for another time!
My husband and I have four children and four grandchildren. Three of our children are either graduated from High School or college with our two oldest already married and our youngest in middle school.
After staying at home to raise our four children, I recently expanded my wings and accepted a job as the advertising assistant at our local newspaper. I have always loved creating ads and now I get to make a living doing it! I am not as old as one might think and I plan to do this for a very long time.
Other than buying and selling cattle, my hobbies include camping, fishing (in all forms), hunting, boating, writing, and of course… roasting coffee!
